About the Course
This course aims to enrich participants’ theoretical and practical knowledge for teaching preschool learners of specific learning differences who are at risk for literacy difficulties by helping participants grow in their understanding of how to do early identification and intervention with these preschool learners.

The course is designed to help participants gain competence in teaching the basic letter-sounds of English through the delivery of phonics lessons. Participants will become aware of Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs) such as Dyslexia and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), and other co-occurring issues such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Dyspraxia, which can affect the learning of literacy skills in preschoolers, and be introduced to some practitioner-friendly assessment tools and intervention strategies which can be incorporated into lesson planning.

The target audience may be teachers who need specific strategies in supporting preschool learners struggling to develop pre-literacy or early literacy in the classroom, or parents who want to support their children at home, or other professionals and specialists who support preschoolers diagnosed or suspected of having learning differences.

DAS Academy will be delivering the course with dual-mode of learning; face-to-face or online via live-stream on Zoom. Please indicate your preferred mode of learning in the registration form. Please note that you will not be allowed to change your preference once the registration is completed.

After this Executive Function Course, I can now strategise and help my dyslexic son with his daily activities. I never knew that my son is struggling daily and unmotivated due to lack of executive function. I like this Executive Function Course because it empowers me to be confident in handling my son's outbursts and managing his learning needs.
