TARGET PARTICIPANTS

 

Parents, caregivers and educators who work with children between the ages of 7 to 12 (Primary 1-6).

 

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

 

This workshop is specially designed for participants who are or will be supporting Primary level students with specific learning difficulties (SpLD) in their English Examinations. The course will examine the various components of the English Language Paper Two, unpack the intricacies of the various components by simplifying them into simple and manageable steps, and eventually, impart strategies to tackle the examination requirements.

 

BRIEF COURSE CONTENTS

 

Topics:

1. Understand the marking requirement of the paper.

2. Learn the basic conventions of grammar that Dyslexic children need to master for handling the various components - Word Order and Vocabulary Cloze.

3. Learn step by step strategies for supporting Dyslexic pupils in various components – MCQ and open-ended Vocabulary Close and Comprehension.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

  • Understand the requirements of PSLE English language paper
  • Gain knowledge in mastering the various components in English language paper
  • Learn the strategies in supporting dyslexic students in the areas of MCQ, OE, Vocabulary Close and Comprehension
