TARGET PARTICIPANTS

 

Parents and caregivers of children between the ages of 7 to 10 (P1 to P4).

 

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

 

This workshop allows attendees to understand the nature of Mathematics and how it affects students with dyslexia, the theoretical and practical implications of Mathematics and the nature of Dyscalculia. Attendees will also learn practical strategies that can be applied in school & at home to aid children in their learning.

1. Understanding Dyscalculia and Math learning difficulties

2. Common Errors in Computation

3. Number Sense & Knowledge

4. Basic Operations: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication & Division.

5. Fractions

6. Word Problems

  • Understand the learning difficulties related to the nature of Math and dyscalculic symptoms
  • Understand misconceptions in Math through Error Analysis
  • Gain practical strategies in supporting learners with dyslexia/dyscalculia in Math at home
