Seven DAS Academy courses are now SkillsFuture Credit-eligible!

DAS Academy is an appointed training partner of Social Service Institute (SSI) and a key training provider in the field of Special Educational Needs (SEN). In collaboration with SSI, DAS Academy offers seven training courses curated for social service professionals.

The seven training courses are significantly funded by Skillsfuture Singapore (SSG) and recommended for professionals or self-learning individuals working with children with dyslexia, ADHD and other Special Educational Needs. These courses are delivered in partnership with the Social Service Institute (SSI) under the Training Network Model (TNM) and participants can attend these courses at 70% off the original course fee.

Registration for each course will close one month before the course run date.

Course Lecturer: Siti Mariam

Introduces the fundamentals of literacy support for children with SEN for educators and parents. This module will equip practitioners with the knowledge, rationale and strategies/skills to support children with SEN in literacy through conceptual teaching and instruction. This will have positive implications for their ability to access literacy content to meet academic demands. 

Course fees:

  • Before funding: $2,106 (including GST)

Duration: 4-day course / 24 hours

The course introduces executive functions, a concept more familiar in the field of psychology, to practitioners who work with children with SEN. Practitioners can learn to develop children’s executive functions which have positive implications for their academic and social functioning.

Learn about Educational Psychology and how it can be applied in teaching SEN children in individualised support work or in the classroom. Be equipped with the knowledge of psychological theories that can be put into practice in creating an ideal learning environment for children with diverse learning needs.

This course aims to equip the participants with the knowledge and skills to plan, implement and evaluate an intervention for a child with SEN. Without an individualised lesson plan, the child with SEN will never be able to bridge the persistent educational gaps.

Introduces the fundamentals of planning and delivering literacy lessons for children with SEN for educators and parents. Literacy challenges may cause significant gaps in their ability to access the content needed to keep up with the fast moving curriculum. Identifying and addressing these literacy challenges through a 1-1 intervention then becomes imperative to allow these children to better access the curriculum content.

This course makes accessible the management of ADHD, typically the role of psychologists, to other stakeholders such as educators, counsellors and caregivers. Participants who support children with ADHD can look forward to multimodal management of ADHD.
