These videos provide educators with a practical visual reference to review, reinforce, and apply ELA concepts and teaching procedures confidently.
ELA Card Deck
Inspired by resources from The Language Tool Kit and the Michigan Dyslexia Institute, the ELA Card Deck combines the strengths of both while incorporating enhanced features. Each card includes a keyword illustration, phonics concepts, multiple sounds, and less common sounds or rules (e.g. s representing /z/ after a voiced consonant), presented in a structured sequence from the most common to more advanced applications.
With approximately 100 cards, the deck provides educators with quick and convenient access to essential phonics information during instruction.
ELA Picture Deck
Designed for younger learners and students who are new to phonics, the ELA Picture Deck features large, full-colour illustrations that serve as visual cues to help students recall the sound of each target phonogram (e.g. u → umbrella → /u/).
The illustrations are identical to those found on the reverse side of the ELA Card Deck, ensuring consistency and continuity across teaching resources. The deck contains approximately 50 cards.
