BRIEF COURSE CONTENT

Topics:

  1. Teaching Social Skills
  2. Nurturing Self-Awareness
  3. Teaching Social Observation
  4. Nurturing Perspective-Taking and Problem-Solving Skills

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
The participants will learn practical strategies to help children learn specific social skills useful for daily interactions with peers and adults in familiar settings. Participants will also learn ways to talk that will support the development of self-awareness and perspective-taking in children by developing their vocabulary for describing their own and other people’s actions, thoughts, emotions and intentions.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Learn games and activities for teaching social skills for different settings
  • Learn strategies useful for nurturing self-awareness in children related to their thoughts, feelings and related sensations in the body
  • Learn strategies for teaching children to practise social observation in different settings
  • Learn strategies for helping children to develop perspective-taking and problem-solving skills

COURSE DELIVERY
DAS Academy will be delivering the workshop via dual-mode of learning; face-to-face or online via live-stream on Zoom. Please indicate your preferred mode of learning in the registration form. Please note that you will not be allowed to change your preference once the registration is completed.
