About the Course
This course aims to help participants acquire theoretical knowledge on different aspects of speech, language and communication, including typical speech-language acquisition and development from birth to adulthood, as well as an overview of Speech, Language and Communication Disorders.
The course is designed to help participants gain a greater understanding of speech, language and communication disorders, as well as their impact on learners’ receptive and expressive language, social behaviours, as well as their learning experiences in a classroom. The course will introduce some practical classroom strategies which can be incorporated into classroom practice to support learners with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
Target Audience
This course is designed for parents, educators and other professionals who may need specific strategies in supporting preschool, primary or secondary school learners who have been diagnosed with speech, language or communication disorder or struggling to learn vocabulary, understand spoken or written language, or struggling to express themselves, be it due to unclear speech or communication.
