About the Course
This course aims to equip participants with an understanding of educational psychology and its impact on parenting, teaching, and learning styles. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of educational psychology in teaching and learning, and that no single learning approach or style will fit every learner with SpLDs. This course will help participants study the cognitive processes, developmental needs, intelligence, abilities and adopt different techniques for effective teaching, as well as appreciate the link between theories and practices of teaching and learning.

On successful completion of the module, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the basic ideas and concepts of Educational Psychology
  • Identify parenting styles and know the impact on children’s development
  • Identify learning styles and know the effect on students’ learning
  • Apply teaching methods and know the influence on students’ learning
  • Explain the Multiple Intelligences
  • Explain the Developmental Theories
  • Explain the Learning theories and the paradigms underpinning them
  • Explain the Motivational Theories
  • Understand the application of Educational Psychology to Special Education

At DAS Academy, most of our courses are delivered through a blended learning approach that combines the best of both worlds—in-person classroom sessions and online live learning. Classroom sessions provide opportunities for rich interaction, collaboration, and hands-on engagement, while online live learning offers flexibility and convenience, allowing learners to learn anywhere.

There is only one assessment for this module – 25 Questions MCQ paper, based on the topics covered in the course. Participants are required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the theories learnt in the course. There may be some structured MCQ questions based on a case study or scenario.

The assessment will be done at the end of the course via the Learning Management System (LMS). Participants have 40 minutes and only 1 attempt to complete the quiz.

  • A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to participants who attain at least 75% attendance and successfully pass the assessment.
  • A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who attain at least 75% attendance but do not wish to undertake the assessment.

*Course will be postponed if minimum number of participants is not met
